Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Seven Limited, a subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), started commercial operations of a 187.5 MW solar power project in Gujarat’s Khavda on May 22, 2025. The project is part of AGEL’s larger plan to develop a 30,000 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy park in the Rann of Kutch.

The mega hybrid park will include 26,000 MW of solar and 4,000 MW of wind capacity. Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL) is leading implementation, while AGEL is developing the site. Transmission infrastructure is being handled by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), and the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).

Meanwhile, Bridge and Roof Company (India) Limited has been selected as the lowest bidder for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of 700 MW of solar projects in the same region. These will also be located at Khavda, Gujarat.

SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a subsidiary of SJVN Limited, is developing several projects at the Khavda Solar Park. In January 2024, SGEL won 100 MW capacity, and in March 2024, an additional 400 MW under the greenshoe option, both at a tariff of Rs 2.54 per kWh, under the Phase XXI auction of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). These projects are part of a 600 MW tender with an extra 600 MW greenshoe option floated in July 2023.

Further, in March 2024, SGEL secured another 200 MW at Rs 2.54 per kWh under GUVNL’s Phase XXIII auction. These are part of a 1,125 MW tender announced in January 2024.

All SGEL projects will follow the build, own, operate (BOO) model. The 700 MW capacity will be spread across seven 100 MW plots. The scope includes full EPC responsibilities and three years of operations and maintenance. This covers everything from land development and design to commissioning and performance validation.
