Renewable energy developers commit massive capacity investments at RE-Invest 2024

At the RE-Invest event in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, several renewable energy developers have made significant capacity creation commitments as part of their “Shapath Patra” agreements with the government. Reliance Industries (RIL) has pledged to set up 100,000 MW of additional renewable capacity by 2030, alongside manufacturing 20,000 MW per year of integrated solar PV and equivalent glass capacity.

Other contributors include Zelestra (9,850 MW), NHPC (9,558 MW), O2 Power (9,500 MW), Torrent Power (8,710 MW), and Azure Power (7,052 MW).
In addition to capacity expansion, several developers have committed to manufacturing renewable energy components. ReNew has pledged to set up 6,000 MW per year of ingot-wafer, cell, and module capacity, while Avaada has committed to 5,000 MW per year. Tata Power will also establish a 5,000 MW per year cells and modules manufacturing facility.
