Hartek Group’s Power System Business Unit has completed the on-load charging of the third 1×500 MVA Inter-Connecting Transformer (ICT) at the 765/400 kV Kurnool New Sub-Station. The commissioning adds transformation capacity at the high-voltage substation and strengthens the transmission network in the region.

The 500 MVA ICT forms part of the substation’s 765/400 kV infrastructure and expands its capacity to transform power between the two voltage levels. The project also supports the wider expansion of ultra-high-voltage power transmission infrastructure in the region.

The company said the work involved complex technical integration and quality compliance requirements associated with large-scale Extra High Voltage (EHV) infrastructure. The project was executed through collaboration between its senior management, design, supply chain management (SCM), finance, construction and site teams.

The Kurnool project adds to Hartek’s track record in high-voltage transmission infrastructure. The company has commissioned more than 400 EHV and High Voltage (HV) substations across India and undertakes power transmission infrastructure up to 765 kV. Its project experience spans substations and grid infrastructure supporting the expansion and integration of India’s power network.
