Kshema Power wins transmission order for 315 MW wind project in Karnataka
Kshema Power has secured an order from a leading independent power producer (IPP) to develop power evacuation infrastructure for a 315 MW wind power project in Karnataka.
The order covers the supply, civil works, erection and commissioning of approximately 33 km of 220 kV single-circuit transmission line on double-circuit towers and multi-circuit towers. Kshema Power will also undertake the supply, civil works, erection and commissioning of unit substations and 33 kV transmission line infrastructure.
The integrated scope includes procurement of required approvals for high-voltage transmission, substation infrastructure, electrical balance of plant, civil works, erection and commissioning. The project is intended to provide the transmission infrastructure required to evacuate power from the wind project.
Wind evacuation
The order comes as India’s wind power sector continues to expand. The country added 6,057 MW of wind capacity in FY26, taking total installed capacity beyond 57 GW, according to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
Karnataka ranks third among Indian states with close to 8,900 MW of installed wind capacity. As new renewable generation capacity is added, transmission and evacuation infrastructure is becoming increasingly important for connecting projects to the grid.
The Central Electricity Authority’s (CEA) National Electricity Plan (Transmission) envisages more than 191,000 ckm of new transmission lines and investment of over Rs 9.15 lakh crore through 2032 to support 500 GW of non-fossil capacity by 2030.

Recent orders
Kshema Power had secured a Rs 108 crore contract last year to build a 400 kV transmission line in Ananthapuram district, Andhra Pradesh, for a 1 GW wind farm. The project involves construction of a 42 km transmission line, including a single-circuit line on double-circuit towers.
The company has also secured an order from Oyster Green Hybrid Three Private Limited to develop a 33 kV/220 kV air-insulated substation (AIS) for a 350 MW wind-solar hybrid project in Madhya Pradesh.
Kshema Power has executed more than 5.2 GW of renewable energy infrastructure globally, including more than 4,500 MW of wind EPC projects, over 2,000 km of power transmission lines and 2,400+ MVA of substation capacity.
