SECI awards 275 MW of wind projects to Powerica, CESC subsidiary
The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has awarded a total of 275 MW of wind power capacity to two developers under its tariff-based competitive bidding programme. Powerica Limited has secured a 100 MW project in Gujarat, while Purvah Green Power Private Limited, a subsidiary of CESC Limited, has been awarded a 175 MW grid-connected wind power project under SECI’s Tranche-XX auction.
Both projects have been awarded at a tariff of Rs 3.85 per kWh and will supply electricity for a period of 25 years.
Powerica project
Powerica Limited has received the Letter of Award (LoA) for setting up a 100 MW wind power project in Gujarat. The project will be developed under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), with commissioning scheduled within 24 months from the date of signing the PPA.
The company received the LoA under SECI Reference No. SECI/C&P/WPD/T20/LOA/PL/P1/84846 dated August 5, 2026. Powerica stated that the contract is domestic in nature and does not involve any related-party transaction or promoter interest in the awarding entity.
Purvah Green Power
In a separate award, Purvah Green Power Private Limited, a subsidiary of CESC Limited, has secured a 175 MW grid-connected wind power project under SECI’s Tranche-XX bidding process.
The project will supply power for 25 years from the scheduled commencement of supply date at a tariff of Rs 3.85 per kWh. The award has been made under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding guidelines.
The two awards follow SECI’s recently concluded Tranche-XX auction for 2,000 MW of ISTS-connected wind power projects, in which the lowest discovered tariff was Rs 3.78 per kWh, while a significant share of the awarded capacity was allocated at Rs 3.85 per kWh.
