REC appoints Somya Kant as Executive Director

REC Limited has promoted Shri Somya Kant as Executive Director, effective August 3, 2026, subject to assumption of charge, strengthening its senior management team.

The appointment, disclosed through a stock exchange filing in accordance with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) regulations, places Shri Kant in the senior management cadre one level below the company’s Board of Directors.

Professional experience

Shri Kant has more than 35 years of experience in finance and accounts. Of this, he has spent 19 years at REC and 14 years at Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL).

Before his elevation, he was serving as Senior Chief Project Manager at REC’s Karnataka Regional Office.

He holds a Master’s degree in Commerce and a Bachelor’s degree in Law and has been an Associate Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India since 1992.

REC stated that there are no disclosed relationships between Shri Kant and any of the company’s existing directors.
