Oswal Pumps secures Rs 162 crore solar pump order from MSEDCL
Oswal Pumps Limited has received a Letter of Empanelment from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the supply and installation of off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems. The project, valued at about Rs 162.06 crore including GST, will be executed within one year under the PM Kusum B Scheme, specifically the ‘Magel Tyala Saur Krishi Pump’ Yojana.
The company stated in a regulatory filing and subsequent clarification that the final order covers 6,869 solar water pumping systems, revised slightly from an earlier figure. The scope includes design, manufacture, supply, transport, installation, testing and commissioning of systems with capacities of 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP. These systems will be deployed at identified farmer locations across districts in Maharashtra.
The contract also includes a full system warranty, comprehensive repair and maintenance, and a remote monitoring system for five years. As per the terms, each system is to be installed within 60 days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed or Work Order.
The company confirmed that the awarding entity is domestic and the transaction does not qualify as a related party transaction. It also stated that its promoters and group companies have no interest in MSEDCL.
Vivek Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of Oswal Pumps, said the repeat order from MSEDCL reflects the company’s position in large-scale solar water pumping projects. He added that the project is expected to support nearly 6,869 farming households by reducing reliance on grid electricity and diesel-based irrigation, while lowering input costs and emissions.
