Market conditions remained favourable during the year. Coal production reached 1,041 million tonnes, supporting adequate fuel availability. Higher generation from wind, hydro, and solar sources improved sell-side liquidity. The Market Clearing Price in the Day-Ahead Market declined 13.7% year-on-year to Rs 3.86 per unit, while the Real-Time Market price fell 16% to Rs 3.59 per unit.
Indian Gas Exchange (IGX), a subsidiary of IEX, reported its highest annual gas trading volume of 76.8 million MMBtu, up 28% year-on-year. Its PAT rose 35% to Rs 41.9 crore. In the carbon segment, International Carbon Exchange (ICX) recorded a 126% increase in revenue and issued 179 lakh International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs).
The Board of Directors declared a final dividend of Rs 2 per equity share, equivalent to 200% of face value, for FY26.
IEX indicated continued growth potential, supported by rising electricity demand, introduction of longer-duration contracts, regulatory support for market development, and ongoing energy transition trends. The exchange also commenced merchant Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) trades during the quarter.
