Power Finance Corporation Ltd. (PFC) has approved the appointment of Shri Rajesh Kumar Agarwal as an Additional Director, designated as an Independent Director, with effect from April 24, 2026, according to a regulatory filing.
Agarwal brings over 31 years of experience across the power and financial sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree and is a member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. Before this appointment, he served as Executive Director (Finance) at PFC from January 1, 2024.
During his tenure at PFC since 2009, he handled corporate accounts, taxation, fund management and banking, lending policy compliance, restructured assets, fund raising, and loan disbursement. He also led digital initiatives and contributed to improvements in financial reporting.
Before joining PFC, he worked with power sector companies including NTPC, NPCIL, and DTL, where he was involved in tariff matters, Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) negotiations, and implementation of the Ahluwalia Committee reforms.
PFC stated that his experience is expected to support key areas such as tariff-related issues, PPA negotiations, and sector reforms.
