Thermax subsidiary wins Rs 1,600 crore boiler order

Thermax Babcock & Wilcox Energy Solutions Limited (TBWES), a wholly owned subsidiary of Thermax Limited, has secured a boiler package supply order worth about Rs 1,600 crore. The order is from a thermal power projects company in Central India for a 1×800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant.

Scope and execution

The contract covers manufacturing, supply, supervision of installation and commissioning, and performance testing of the boiler package. Execution will be aligned with project milestones and delivery schedules defined in the agreement.

Ashish Bhandari, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Thermax, stated that the order reflects the company’s capabilities in large-scale energy solutions and will be executed within accelerated timelines.

Business profile and recent orders

TBWES provides equipment and solutions for steam generation for process and power applications using solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels, as well as heat recovery from turbine or engine exhaust and industrial waste heat. It also undertakes renovation and modernisation of boilers and heaters, along with digital solutions.

The Central India order follows recent contract wins by TBWES. In the third quarter, the company secured an order exceeding Rs 580 crore from Dangote Industries for utility boilers and associated systems at its refinery and petrochemical complex in Nigeria. In the same period, Thermax received orders totalling about Rs 200 crore in the data centre segment across North America and India.
