NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), on June 30, 2025, commissioned 64.7 MW solar capacity under the 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project. This project is part of the larger 4,750 MW Khavda Wind-Solar Hybrid Renewable Energy Power Park in Kutch district.
With this addition, the total commissioned capacity under the Khavda-I Solar PV Project now stands at 321.65 MW.
The entire renewable energy park is spread across 9,500 hectares of land in Khavda tehsil. It will be developed in two zones — one each for wind and solar installations. Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL) is the nodal agency for project implementation.
In parallel, NTPC Limited has also commissioned 32.8 MW solar capacity under the 300 MW solar power component of its 450 MW wind-solar hybrid project in the same region. With this, 175.02 MW of the 300 MW solar capacity has been commissioned so far.
The 450 MW ISTS-connected hybrid project at Khavda comprises 300 MW solar and 150 MW wind power capacity.
NTPC had secured 450 MW capacity in SECI’s Tranche-V auction for ISTS-connected hybrid projects.
