NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has commissioned its entire 470 MW solar power project in Rajasthan.
The final phase, 100 MW from the 320 MW Bhainsara solar project in Jaisalmer, began commercial operations on March 20, 2025.
This milestone follows the earlier commissioning of 160 MW at Bhainsara on August 28, 2024, and 60 MW on January 7, 2025.
The project is part of NTPC’s efforts to develop 470 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants in Rajasthan under Tranche-III, based on a build, own, and operate (BOO) model. Of the total capacity, 320 MW is located in Bhainsara, Jaisalmer, while the remaining 150 MW is in Chhattargarh, Bikaner.
The power generated from these projects will be supplied to Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL) under a power sale agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
