MECON wins contract for consultancy works for Shanan Hydro Project

MECON Limited has secured a contract valued at Rs 46.59 million to conduct Remnant Life Assessment (RLA) studies, detailed feasibility studies, and preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Shanan Hydro Power Project.
The contract follows a bidding process initiated by Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) in August 2023.
Originally, the project turbines had a capacity of 4 x 12 MW. In March 1982, the Government of Punjab upgraded the turbines to 4 x 15 MW and added a 50 MW turbine, bringing the total project capacity to 110 MW.
