Powerica has secured a 50 MW capacity in the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) undersubscribed auction for a 500 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power project (Tranche-XVII).
The company won the allocation at a tariff of Rs 3.81 per kWh. Due to an undersubscription, only 120 MW of the 500 MW was bid, resulting in SECI reducing the total award to 96 MW, per the tender’s 80% allocation provision.
Adyant Enersol also participated, bidding for 70 MW at Rs 3.82 per kWh. However, Adyant was eligible for 46 MW with the reduced award size but did not receive any allocation, as the tender required a minimum project size of 50 MW.
Under the tender guidelines, Powerica must develop the wind project with the necessary transmission infrastructure up to the interconnection point, including land identification, installation, ownership, and securing necessary connectivity and approvals. Only type-certified wind turbines from SECI’s Revised List of Models and Manufacturers are permitted for this project.
