Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Continuum Green Energy Limited for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 40 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at wind-solar hybrid sites in Gujarat. The total cost of the project is estimated at Rs 400 million.
The project will utilize lithium iron phosphate (LFP) based liquid-cooled containerized BESS technology. It will be executed under a Lump Sum Turnkey Project agreement, integrating the solar project into a single battery storage system.
The initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and reliability of renewable energy infrastructure in Gujarat, ensuring a more stable power supply for industrial consumers and supporting the state’s transition toward sustainable energy solutions.
Earlier in February, Waaree Group began construction of its alkaline electrolyser manufacturing facility in Valsad, Gujarat, with an initial production capacity of 300 MW. The facility will support industries such as steel, refining, transportation, fertilisers, chemicals, food, and power generation in their decarbonisation efforts. Additionally, Waaree Renewable Energy Technologies won a contract from Mahindra Susten to supply solar modules for the 200 MW/280 MWp Rajasthan Solar Power Project (RUVNL).
