Waaree Energies has become the first Indian solar panel manufacturer to publish independently verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for its bifacial mono PERC and TOPCon solar panels.
Certified by The International EPD System, these declarations showcase Waaree’s commitment to reducing environmental impact.
The TOPCon panels, classified as ultra-low-carbon products, offer 600Wp power and 22.03 per cent efficiency with a lifecycle carbon footprint of 0.368 kg CO2 eq./Wp. The 550Wp mono PERC panels, with 21.36 per cent efficiency, have a footprint of 0.447 kg CO2 eq./Wp. These assessments were conducted by Sphera Solutions using detailed Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs).
Based in Mumbai, Waaree Energies operates with a manufacturing capacity of 13.3 GW for solar PV modules, including 1.3 GW of Indosolar.
CEO Amit Paithankar emphasized that the EPD certifications set a new benchmark for sustainability, empowering stakeholders to choose low-carbon solutions.
