Waaree Energies completes acquisition of Waaree Semicon
Waaree Energies Limited has completed the acquisition of a 100% equity stake in Waaree Semicon Private Limited (WSPL) through its wholly owned subsidiary, Waaree Power Private Limited (WPPL). The transaction was completed for a total consideration of Rs 1 lakh.
Following the acquisition, WSPL has become a step-down subsidiary of Waaree Energies with effect from May 15, 2026. The company had earlier informed exchanges on April 29, 2026, about the proposed transaction.
In April 2026, the board of Waaree Energies approved the acquisition as part of efforts to strengthen its power electronics supply chain. Under the approved arrangement, WPPL acquired the entire stake in WSPL from Waaree Sustainable Finance Private Limited, a promoter group entity, through a cash transaction valued at Rs 1 lakh.
Waaree Semicon is currently a non-operational entity. The company plans to build capabilities in power semiconductor products, including photovoltaic (PV) diodes, Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs), and Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors (MOSFETs). These components are widely used in renewable energy systems and electric vehicle applications.
