Vikram Solar Limited has appointed Sameer Nagpal as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective March 20, 2026, as the company advances its capacity expansion plans.
Nagpal brings over three decades of experience across multiple industries. He has held leadership roles at Livguard Energy Technologies, Dalmia Bharat Group, Shalimar Paints, Ingersoll Rand, Zicom, and Carrier Air Conditioning. He holds a mechanical engineering degree from Delhi College of Engineering and a post-graduate diploma in business management from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta).
He succeeds Krishna Kumar Maskara, who had been serving as Interim CEO since the company’s stock market listing in August 2025. Maskara has been redesignated as Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO), and will continue as Chief Risk Officer (CRO). His remuneration and directorship remain unchanged.
The appointment comes as Vikram Solar scales up its targets. The company is aiming for 15.5 GW of module manufacturing capacity and 12 GW of cell manufacturing through backward integration. It also plans to enter the energy storage segment with 5 GWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) module manufacturing and 7.5 GWh of battery cell manufacturing capacity.
Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director, said the company is focusing on combining execution with transformation as it moves toward a more integrated and globally competitive structure. Nagpal said his priorities include strengthening market position, expanding international presence across its existing footprint of 39 countries, and building integrated capabilities.
Separately, Anil Bhadauria, Executive Vice President and Head of Manufacturing Operations, submitted his resignation on March 3, 2026, and will be relieved on May 31, 2026, after completing his notice period.
Vikram Solar currently has a cumulative production capacity of 9.5 GW, with manufacturing facilities at Falta in West Bengal and Panaiyur Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu.
