Vestas has received a firm order from RWE for the 900 MW Nordseecluster B offshore wind project in the German North Sea.

The project will feature 60 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines, with Vestas responsible for their supply, delivery, commissioning, and a 5-year service agreement followed by long-term operational support.

The Nordseecluster is being developed in two phases. The first phase, the 660 MW Nordseecluster A, consisting of 44 V236-15.0 MW turbines, was announced in June 2024. Together, the two phases will contribute significantly to Europe’s offshore wind capacity.

Located approximately 50 km north of the island of Juist, installation for Nordseecluster B is scheduled for 2028, with commercial operations set to begin in early 2029.

Thomas Michel, Chief Operating Officer of RWE Offshore Wind, highlighted the importance of collaboration with supply chain partners like Vestas in delivering RWE’s 4.8 GW offshore wind portfolio currently under development.
