Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Limited (TSGENCO) has invited bids for the preparation of Techno-Commercial Feasibility Reports (TCFR) for setting up pumped storage projects (PSPs) at 35 tentatively identified locations in the state. The last date for bid submission is March 17, 2025.

The first eight locations have been identified near Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Schemes (LIS) and Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Schemes (LIS). These include reservoirs such as Mid Manair & Anantagiri, Anantagiri & Sri Ranga Nayaka Sagar, Ranga Nayaka Sagar & Sri Komaravelly Mallana Sagar, Srisailam & Anjanagiri, Anjanagiri & Veranjaneya, Veranjaneya & Venkatadri, Kurumurthyraya & Udandapur, and Udandapur & K.P Lakshmidevipalli for PSP 01 to PSP 08, respectively.

The remaining sites are PSP 09 near Lingal, PSP 10 near Vatwarlapalle, PSP 11 near Bonala, Balamur in Nagarkurnool district, PSP 12 near Vankeshwaram, PSP 13 near Padra in Nalgonda district, PSP 14 near Venkatapuram, PSP 15 near Ankannaguden Z, PSP 16 near Pamunoor, PSP 17 near Kothapalle in Jayashankar Bhupalapally district, PSP 18 near Sirpur in Kumuram Bheem district, PSP 19 near Lingal, PSP 20 near Srisailam, PSP 21 and PSP 22 near Lingal, PSP 23 near Vatevellupalli, PSP 24 and PSP 25 near Lingal, PSP 26, PSP 27, and PSP 28 near Vatevellupalli, PSP 29 near Uppunthala BK, PSP 30 near Lingal, PSP 31 near Vatevellupalli, PSP 32 near Uppunthala BK, PSP 33 near Maradugu in Nagarkurnool district, and PSP 34 and PSP 35 near Ramagundam in Peddapalli district.

The PSP sites selected for TCFR have been tentatively identified from the global atlas developed by the Australian National University (ANU). The projects are expected to be implemented across Telangana.

Meanwhile, the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department of Andhra Pradesh has invited bids for consultancy services for the preparation of a detailed project report (DPR) for the Kamalapadu Pumped Storage Hydro Electric Project – Phase II. The bidding process started on March 5, 2025, with the last date for submission on March 12, 2025.

The work, estimated to cost Rs 1.17 million, is expected to be completed within two months. The Kamalapadu project is planned to have a capacity of 950 MW at Yadiki mandal, Anantapuramu district, involving the construction of a major district road from Kundanakota (Kowlapalli) to Yadiki in Andhra Pradesh.
