Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited (TKM) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ohmium International to explore green hydrogen development opportunities in India.
As part of the collaboration, the two companies will work to integrate Toyota’s proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell technologies—backed by Toyota Motor Corporation Japan—with Ohmium’s modular PEM electrolyser systems. These systems are designed for fast deployment and low-cost production. They also feature advanced power electronics and closed-loop cooling systems.
The partnership is focused on making green hydrogen scalable, efficient, and affordable for industrial and transport uses.
Ohmium, founded in 2019, is a US-headquartered green hydrogen company with manufacturing operations in India. It designs and produces modular PEM electrolysers for industrial decarbonisation and clean transport. Ohmium’s global green hydrogen project pipeline exceeds 2 GW across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
TKM is a joint venture between Toyota Motor Corporation (89%) and the Kirloskar Group (11%), involved in vehicle manufacturing in India.
