TNGECL invites bids for 375 MW BESS projects across four circles

Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation has invited bids to set up seven standalone BESS projects with a combined capacity of 375 MW and 1,500 MWh. The systems will be built, owned, and operated by the selected developer and will be located at substations in four operation circles.
The projects are planned across specific sites with different storage capacities. In the Coimbatore circle, Anaikadavu will host a 400 MWh system, Karamadai a 300 MWh system, and Palladam a 100 MWh system. The Trichy circle will have 200 MWh systems each at Thatchankurichi and Thiruvarur. The Madurai circle’s Thappagundu substation is planned for a 200 MWh unit, and the Tirunelveli circle’s N. Subbaiahpuram substation will receive a 100 MWh unit.
The tender states that the developer will build, own, and operate the systems. Each BESS will be designed for 1.5 cycles per day. TNGECL will sign a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement with the winning bidder.
The bidding process includes a fee of Rs 1.5 million. Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 200,000 for every MW they bid. The deadline for submission is December 22, 2025.
