Tlawng hydro project to begin construction in FY 2025

The Tlawng Hydro-Electrical Project, with a planned capacity of 120 MW, is set to begin construction in FY 2025. Detailed Project Report (DPR) preparation is currently underway.
The Central Water Commission (CWC) has completed key studies, including topographical survey, geotechnical investigation, seismic study, and construction material analysis, along with a foundation study for the dam site. Tender evaluation for the project is in progress.
Located near North Lungleg in Mizoram’s Aizawl district, the project involves an investment of Rs 5.1 billion.
