Techno Electric & Engineering Company Ltd has received a letter of intent from RailTel Corporation of India to develop a 10 MW data centre in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The facility will be built on RailTel-owned land.

The award is subject to conditions outlined in the letter of intent and will proceed upon signing of a formal agreement. Techno was selected through an open tender and will serve as a “Managed Service Data Centre Partner” on a revenue-sharing model. The specific revenue share percentage has not been disclosed.

The contract will run for 30 years, including a 24-month implementation phase. Since earnings will depend on revenue share, the order’s financial value is currently indeterminate.

RailTel already operates two Tier-III certified data centres—one in Secunderabad and another in Gurugram. These centres offer hosting, co-location, systems management, and secure infrastructure services. The Secunderabad facility is also Indian Railways’ first Tier-III certified data centre.
