NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), has secured a 1,000 MW solar power order from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) following a successful bid in an e-reverse auction on 3 January 2025. UPPCL resolves legal challenges to privatise two DISCOMs

The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has overcome legal hurdles in its bid to privatise Dakshinanchal and Purvanchal DISCOMs under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.  The Board of Directors for both DISCOMs has authorised the formation of a new entity to facilitate the privatisation process. NHPC inks 1,280 MW renewable power sale deal with UPPCL

On 27 November 2024, NHPC signed a power sale agreement (PSA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) for the supply of 1,280 MW of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE).  The agreement, formalized in Lucknow, is part of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Renewable Energy Implementing Agency (REIA) scheme.
