Synera Renewable Energy Group (SRE Group) has partnered with Moondo Wind Energy (MWE) to develop an 840 MW offshore wind farm near Geomundo Island, Yeosu City, in South Korea’s Jeollanam-do Province.
The project, named Moondo Offshore Wind Energy (MOWE), marks SRE Group’s entry into the South Korean market and its second international venture after Northern Kyushu, Japan.
The joint venture has secured an Electricity Business License (EBL) for the bottom-fixed offshore wind farm, emphasizing SRE Group’s commitment to supporting South Korea’s energy transition and carbon reduction goals through advanced technology and expertise.
In October 2024, SRE Group also received an establishment permit for its 495 MW Formosa 4 offshore wind project in Taiwan, further strengthening its position in the global offshore wind market.
