Sterlite Electric files DRHP with SEBI for IPO

Sterlite Electric Limited, formerly known as Sterlite Power Transmission Limited, has filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for an initial public offering (IPO).
The IPO will consist of a fresh issue of up to 7.793 million equity shares and an offer for sale of up to 7.796 million equity shares, aggregating around 15.589 million equity shares. Promoters Anil Agarwal and Twin Star Overseas Limited, part of the Vedanta Group, will participate in the offer for sale along with other shareholders.
The company plans to utilise the net proceeds from the fresh issue for repayment or prepayment of borrowings, funding capital expenditure requirements, and general corporate purposes.
Sterlite Electric manufactures capital goods and provides system integration solutions in the power transmission and distribution sector for both domestic and international markets. Its portfolio includes overhead conductors, power cables, optical ground wire (OPGW), and master system integration (MSI) services.
The company operates manufacturing facilities in four locations. Jharsuguda in Odisha, Piparia and Rakholi in Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu produce overhead conductors. The Haridwar facility in Uttarakhand manufactures power cables, while the Piparia unit in Silvassa also produces OPGW. As of March 31, 2025, annual installed capacity stood at 117,195.60 tonnes for overhead conductors, 2,400 km for power cables, and 21,000 km for OPGW.
