Siemens Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) with a bid of Rs 647.79 million for civil works on the Distributed Control System (DCS) in Unit I of the Suratgarh Thermal Power Station (TPS) Renovation and Modernization (R&M) Project.
Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) invited bids in February 2024.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) was the second-lowest bidder (L2), quoting Rs 740.79 million.
The scope includes design, engineering, supply, retrofitting, erection, testing, and commissioning of the DCS system for replacing the existing steam generator-turbine generator (SG-TG) and control and instrumentation (C&I) systems.
Suratgarh TPS has six 250 MW units commissioned between 1998 and 2009. The ongoing R&M includes Real Life Assessment (RLA) of boilers for Units 1–5 at an estimated cost of Rs 2.91 billion, handled by IRC Engineering Services India Private Limited in Rajasthan.
