Sembcorp Industries, through its subsidiary Sembcorp Green Infra Private Limited, has been awarded a 150 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project by SJVN Limited.
The project follows a build-own-operate framework and forms part of SJVN’s 6,000 MWh (1,500 MW x 4 hours) tender designed to supply reliable peak power through renewable energy integrated with energy storage systems connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS).
To meet its supply obligations, Sembcorp plans to develop around 750 MW of renewable capacity, combining solar power generation with battery energy storage systems (BESS). The project is expected to begin commercial operations within 24 months after the signing of a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SJVN. The development will be financed through a mix of internal resources and external borrowing, reflecting Sembcorp’s continued expansion in India’s renewable energy sector.
