The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited bids under the Request for Selection (RfS) process to select solar power developers (SPDs) for setting up 2,000 MW of ISTS-connected solar power projects, along with 1,000 MW/4,000 MWh energy storage systems (ESS), under Tranche-XX. The bid was issued on June 12, 2025, and the last date for submission is July 24, 2025.

The projects will be set up on a build, own and operate (BOO) basis. Developers will be responsible for building the dedicated transmission network up to the interconnection point. SECI will sign 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the successful bidders. The Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date (SCSD) is 24 months from the date of PPA signing.

Also on June 12, 2025, NHPC Limited, on behalf of Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (BSUL)—a joint venture with Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA)—invited bids for civil works under Package-I for 600 MW (2 x 300 MW) Phase-II of the 1,200 MW Jalaun Solar Power Park Project. The project is located at Gram Samuh Amrod and Mai in Madhogarh tehsil, Jalaun district, Uttar Pradesh. The bid submission deadline is July 11, 2025.

The scope of Package-I includes boundary survey, marking, chain-link fencing, and construction of compound walls and gates for pooled sub-stations (PSS).

The Jalaun Solar Power Park is being developed under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park (UMREPP) scheme. The total 1,200 MW capacity will be distributed across Madhogarh (600 MW), Orai (300 MW), and Patrahai (300 MW), over a total of 7,601 acres in Jalaun district.

Separately, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has invited bids for pre-bid tie-ups for the Balance of System (BoS) package of 2,150 MW of solar projects in Bikaner and Fatehgarh districts of Rajasthan. The bid was issued on June 6, 2025, with a deadline of June 17, 2025.

This includes 1,250 MW (5 x 250 MW) in five blocks at RVUNL’s solar park in Bikaner, tendered by NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) in December 2024. It also includes 900 MW (3 x 300 MW) in Fatehgarh, tendered by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) in March 2025.

NTPC and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) had signed an MoU in March 2024 to develop 25,000 MW of renewable energy projects in Rajasthan jointly.

In Tamil Nadu, Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation Limited (TNGECL) has invited Expressions of Interest (EoI) to source land for decentralised solar projects under Components A and C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme. The last date to submit EoIs is July 4, 2025.

The EoI covers lease-based land sourcing for ground or stilt-mounted solar plants ranging from 1 MW to 4 MW, located within a 5 km radius of substations operated by Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO) or Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL), with 11 kV and 22 kV feeders.
