Two companies have won capacity under the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited’s (SECI) Tranche V auction for rooftop solar installations on government buildings in Puducherry, with both quoting a tariff of Rs 4.11 per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

Potaliya Petrochemicals secured 15 MW and Kishan Infrastructure Industries was awarded 2.768 MW, taking the total awarded capacity to 17.768 MW. The tender was first floated in September 2025 at 13.043 MW and was revised upward before the auction closed.

Developers are responsible for the full project cycle: design, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning, followed by operations and maintenance for the entire duration of the power purchase agreement. They must also arrange net metering, grid connectivity, all statutory permits, approvals, licences and insurance, and are required to maintain the transmission system up to the interconnection point, including metering infrastructure. All modules must be sourced from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers, List I, which covers domestically manufactured cells and modules.
