SECI awards 4.455 MW rooftop solar capacity under Tranche IX

Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has announced the winners for 4.455 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar capacity under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) mode through its RTSPV-Tranche IX tender floated in April 2026.

Renergo Developers Private Limited secured the largest share of the awarded capacity, winning 10 projects totalling 3.53 MW across Visva Bharati University, the Regional Passport Office in Bhopal and multiple Central Sanskrit University (CSU) locations. GP Eco Solutions India Limited, Cleanco Renewables Private Limited and AGF Energy Infra Private Limited secured the remaining projects.

Tariffs across the awarded projects range from Rs 2.94/kWh to Rs 3.75/kWh.

Project awards

Renergo Developers secured the 2,000 kW rooftop solar project at Visva Bharati University, Birbhum, at Rs 2.94/kWh, the lowest tariff among the awarded projects.

The company also won the 80 kW project at CSU, Bhopal, and the 100 kW project at the Regional Passport Office, Bhopal, at Rs 3.14/kWh each. It secured the 200 kW CSU, Devprayag project at Rs 3.19/kWh and the 90 kW CSU, Lucknow project at Rs 3.24/kWh.

Renergo was further selected for the 400 kW project at CSU, Puri, and the 220 kW project at CSU, Bhalwal, at Rs 3.35/kWh each. It won the 140 kW CSU, Thrissur project and the 100 kW CSU, Kangra project at Rs 3.65/kWh each, along with the 200 kW CSU, Agartala project at Rs 3.75/kWh.

GP Eco Solutions India Limited secured the 400 kW rooftop solar project at CSU, Jaipur, at Rs 3.04/kWh.

Cleanco Renewables Private Limited won two projects with a combined capacity of 425 kW. These comprise the 375 kW project at IIITDM, Kancheepuram, at Rs 3.10/kWh and the 50 kW project at CSU, Sringeri, at Rs 3.50/kWh.

AGF Energy Infra Private Limited emerged as the successful bidder for the 100 kW rooftop solar project at IIIT, Bhagalpur, at Rs 3.72/kWh.

Project scope

Under the tender guidelines, the selected developers will be responsible for obtaining no objection certificates from the respective distribution companies (discoms), along with the design, engineering, supply, storage, civil works, erection, testing and commissioning of the grid-connected rooftop solar projects.

The developers must also obtain net metering and grid connectivity in accordance with the applicable regulations of the respective State Electricity Regulatory Commission, Central Electricity Authority or concerned discom.

Their responsibilities extend through the entire Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) term and include operation and maintenance of the projects, equipment replacement, insurance and other associated services.
