SAEL Industries Limited has commissioned its first solar power project in Rajasthan with a capacity of 200 MW AC (298 MW DC). The project was completed on 17 August 2025, ahead of its scheduled commercial operation date.
The plant is located in Jalore district and covers over 1,000 acres. It is supported by a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited (RUVITL) at a tariff of INR 2.61 per kWh.
More than 80 per cent of the modules used at the site were supplied from SAEL’s manufacturing facility in Kishangarh, Rajasthan. The project is based on TOPCon photovoltaic technology, with 146-cell and 156-cell module configurations offering peak outputs of up to 635 Wp and efficiencies of up to 22.95 per cent.
According to the company, the project marks its largest solar development to date, connected to a State Transmission Utility. SAEL stated that the location provides reliable transmission connectivity and facilitates grid integration while reducing transmission losses.
Last week, SAEL Industries entered into two long-term power purchase agreements with state utilities in Gujarat and Punjab, covering a combined solar capacity of 880 MW.
