RMC Switchgears secures contract for 10 MW solar project in Maharashtra

RMC Switchgears Limited has won a Rs 192.4 million contract from Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MSPGCL) for setting up 10 MW decentralised solar photovoltaic (PV) power projects under the “Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0” scheme in Maharashtra. The contract was awarded on February 5, 2025.
The project, located at the 33/11 kV Sakali substation in Yawal taluka, Jalgaon district, will be implemented on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis. The scope includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply (excluding solar modules), erection, testing, and commissioning, along with three years of Operation and Maintenance (O&M). The project falls under Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) program for agricultural feeder-level solarisation.
The project aligns with the Government of Maharashtra’s plan to solarize at least 30 percent of agricultural feeders by developing 7,000 MW of solar capacity to provide stable daytime electricity to agriculture consumers.
