REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) has established a project special purpose vehicle (SPV) named “Rajasthan IV 4A Power Transmission Ltd” for the development of an interstate transmission system (ISTS) scheme associated with renewable energy evacuation in Rajasthan. The SPV was incorporated on August 6, 2024, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of RECPDCL, which is serving as the bid process coordinator (BPC) for the project. The developer for the scheme will be selected through a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process.
The scheme, titled “Transmission system for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Phase-IV (Part 4: 3.5 GW): Part A,” is expected to be completed within 24 months from the transfer of the SPV to the selected developer. The project is part of a broader initiative to establish power evacuation infrastructure for 3.5 GW of solar generation from two zones in Rajasthan: Fatehgarh-IV (1 GW) and Barmer-I (2.5 GW).
