Powergrid wins bids for Kudankulam and Karnataka RE projects

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has received Letters of Intent (LoI) for two major transmission projects. 

These include the transmission system under ISTS for evacuating power from Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant Units 3 and 4 (2×1000 MW) and the system strengthening at Koppal-II and Gadag-II for integrating renewable energy (RE) generation projects in Karnataka.

Both schemes will be implemented on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.
