Tata Power commissions NHPC’s 300 MW solar project in Rajasthan
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited has completed NHPC Limited 450 MWp DC or 300 MW AC solar project at Karnisar Bhatiyan in Bikaner. The company executed the work as the EPC contractor and brought the project online after two and a half years. The project uses DCR compliant modules and supplies all power to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited. It is expected to generate about 17230 million units over its operating life. The installation uses about 775000 modules from TP Solar Limited and involved extensive work in high heat and difficult terrain.
GUVNL discovers tariff of up to Rs 1.89 lakh per MW per month in Phase VII BESS tender
Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited has closed its Phase VII tender for 4 GWh of battery storage covering 2 GW with two hours of storage. Tariffs ranged between Rs 1.85 lakh and Rs 1.89 lakh per MW per month. The lowest tariff was Rs 1.8539 lakh from Sun Drops Energia and the highest was Rs 1.89 lakh. Ultimate Flexipack won 450 MW or 900 MWh at this tariff, while Engie Energy India and MEC Power Solutions secured 280 MW and 65 MW respectively. Developers will set up the systems in Gujarat under a build own and operate model with storage purchase agreements signed by GUVNL.
Jakson begins work on 6 GW integrated solar manufacturing unit in MP
Jakson Group has started construction on the first phase of its 6 GW integrated solar manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone for the unit that will produce ingots wafers cells and modules. The first phase covers 3 GW of cell capacity and 4 GW of module capacity. Later phases will add ingot and wafer lines to complete backward integration. Total investment exceeds Rs 80 billion.
Adani Energy receives LOI for Khavda Phase V transmission project
Adani Energy Solutions Limited has received a Letter of Intent from PFC Consulting for a transmission system that will evacuate power from the Khavda renewable energy zone under Phase V. The project includes a 2500 MW 500 kV HVDC system between KPS3 near Khavda and South Olpad. It also covers two HVDC terminals, a bipole line with Dedicated Metallic Return, and a 400 kV double circuit line. The scheme uses Voltage Source Converter based HVDC technology with full power reversal and black start capability. The commercial operation date is scheduled for 48 months from the transfer of the special purpose vehicle.
INOXGFL and KP Group partner to develop 5 GW of renewable projects
INOXGFL Group companies have signed agreements with the KP Group to jointly develop 5 GW of renewable capacity across India. The partnership covers wind solar and hybrid projects. Inox Wind and KP Energy will handle 2.5 GW of wind and hybrid capacity, while Inox Solar and KPI Green Energy will develop 2.5 GW of solar capacity. Inox Green Energy Services will manage operations and maintenance for all turbines and modules. The companies aim to combine manufacturing and development strengths to speed up project execution.
NGEL commissions first 75.5 MW of Khavda I solar project
NTPC Green Energy Limited has brought 75.5 MW of its 1255 MW Khavda I Solar PV Project into commercial operation. The segment entered service on November 19 2025 in Gujarat under the CPSU Scheme Phase II Tranche III. NTPC Renewable Energy Limited is executing the full project. The commissioning raises the installed capacity of the NGEL Group to 7639.075 MW. The company has informed the stock exchanges in line with SEBI Listing Regulations.
PFC sets up SPV for Establishment of 765/400/220 kV AIS Kandalgaon
Power Finance Corporation Limited has created a new special purpose vehicle named Raigad Power Transmission Limited through PFC Consulting. The SPV will support the development of a 765 400 220 kV AIS at Kandalgaon in Raigad district of Maharashtra. Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company appointed PFC Consulting as Bid Process Coordinator in August 2025. The SPV will manage surveys land work and clearances under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding framework. It will be transferred to the successful bidder after the international bidding process.
Power Ministry reviews national progress on pumped storage projects
The Ministry of Power held a meeting in Kurnool to review national progress on pumped storage. The Union Power Minister highlighted the role of pumped storage in managing surplus renewable energy and evening peak demand. He noted evaporation as a long term concern and suggested floating solar to reduce losses. He asked State Governments to speed up site identification and clearances and to consider waiving charges such as green energy cess and water tax. Officials reported national pumped storage potential of 224 GW and outlined policy measures including a 25 year ISTS charge waiver and simplified allocation guidelines.
Mahagenco signs MoU with NPCIL for nuclear power projects
Mahagenco has signed an agreement with Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited to jointly develop nuclear power projects in Maharashtra. The state is the first to partner with the central government under its nuclear power initiative. The plan covers design development and commissioning of a plant that meets AERB and Department of Atomic Energy requirements. The agreement also calls for a study on a reactor assembly line to support local manufacturing. The chief minister said the partnership aligns with state and national goals for clean baseload power.
POWERGRID clears plan to raise Rs 3,800 crore through new bond series
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has approved the issuance of its eighty third bond series to raise up to Rs 3800 crore. The bonds will be unsecured non convertible and redeemable and will be issued through private placement. The base size is Rs 1000 crore with an additional Rs 2800 crore available under the green shoe option. The bonds will be listed on BSE and the National Stock Exchange and redeemed at par through ten equal annual installments. The coupon rate will be discovered through electronic bidding.

TotalEnergies begins commercial operations at 112 MW solar project in Saudi Arabia
A consortium of TotalEnergies Toyota Tsusho and Altaaqa Renewable Energy has begun commercial operations at a 112 MW solar plant in Wadi Ad Dawasir. A subsidiary of Power China built the project. Electricity is supplied to the Saudi Power Procurement Company under a long term power purchase agreement. The plant can meet the needs of more than fifteen thousand homes. It was developed under Round 3 of the National Renewable Energy Program and supports the Vision 2030 goal of increasing renewable power.
