POWERGRID clears plan to raise Rs 3,800 crore through new bond series

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has approved the issuance of its 83rd bond series to raise up to Rs 3,800 crore. The decision was taken by the company’s Committee of Directors for Bonds at a meeting held on November 17 2025.
The fundraising will take place through unsecured, non convertible and redeemable bonds issued on a private placement basis. The base issue size is Rs 1,000 crore, and the green shoe option allows retention of an additional Rs 2,800 crore, taking the total to Rs 3,800 crore.
POWERGRID will list the bonds on both the BSE and the National Stock Exchange. The bonds will be redeemed at par through 10 equal annual installments. The coupon rate will be set through an electronic bidding process on an Electronic Book Provider platform, and interest will be paid once a year.
The company has notified the stock exchanges of this plan in line with SEBI Listing Regulations.
