Inox Clean Energy acquires Vibrant Energy for ~Rs 5,000 crore

INOXGFL Group has expanded its renewable portfolio, with subsidiary Inox Clean Energy completing the acquisition of Vibrant Energy from Macquarie Corporate Holdings for around Rs 5,000 crore. The transaction, completed in four months, adds a 1,337 MW portfolio of solar and hybrid assets. The acquired portfolio supplies power to commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers across Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. Vibrant Energy’s customer base includes Amazon, Sify, Coca-Cola, UltraTech Cement, and Laurus Labs, with most contracts structured as long-term offtake agreements of around 20 years. Inox Clean Energy is targeting 10 GW of installed IPP capacity by FY28.

Adani Power secures 2,500 MW RTC renewable energy contract from MSEDCL

Adani Power Limited has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for supplying 2,500 MW of round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy. The LoA was received on April 1, 2026, following a successful e-reverse auction bid. The contract covers a supply period of 25 years from the Scheduled Commencement Date of Supply. The company stated that the agreement is domestic in nature and does not involve related-party transactions, and that its promoter group holds no stake in MSEDCL.

BSE, NSE clear GE Power India demerger into JSW Energy

GE Power India Limited and JSW Energy Limited have received no-objection letters from BSE Limited and National Stock Exchange of India Limited for their proposed demerger scheme. BSE issued its observation letter with “no adverse observations” on April 1, 2026, while NSE granted its “no objection” on the same date. The scheme, approved by both boards in September 2025, is structured under Sections 230 to 232 of the Companies Act, 2013. The observation letters are valid for six months, within which the companies are required to file the scheme with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). SEBI has prescribed conditions including updated financials, disclosures, and dematerialised share issuance.

EAC backs 2,400 MW Adani Power project in Bihar

The Expert Appraisal Committee has recommended environmental clearance for Adani Power Limited’s 2,400 MW coal-based ultra super critical project in Bhagalpur district, Bihar. The project will comprise three units of 800 MW each, with an estimated cost of Rs 28,225 crore, including Rs 1,908 crore for environmental measures. Coal requirement is estimated at 9.67 million tonnes per annum, and water requirement at 115,200 cubic metres per day sourced from the Ganga River. The clearance includes conditions such as 100% ash utilisation, installation of emission control systems, and greenbelt development across 124 hectares.

Cosmic PV Power files DRHP for Rs 6,400 million IPO

Cosmic PV Power Limited has filed a draft red herring prospectus with SEBI to raise Rs 6,400 million through an initial public offering. The issue includes a fresh equity component of up to Rs 5,400 million and an offer for sale of Rs 1,000 million. Of the fresh proceeds, Rs 4,971.43 million will be used to set up a greenfield solar manufacturing facility in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh, with a planned capacity of 1.1 GW. The company is listed under MNRE’s ALMM with an enlisted capacity of 1.30 GW as of September 30, 2025.

Enviro Infra Engineers wins Rs 1,481 crore orders, enters BESS EPC

Enviro Infra Engineers Limited secured five projects worth Rs 1,481 crore in March 2026, including its first contracts in the battery energy storage system segment. NTPC Limited accounts for Rs 1,070 crore of the total, covering EPC of 930 MWh of battery storage capacity. The awards mark the company’s entry into utility-scale energy storage in FY2025-26. The projects expand its presence into Bihar, Assam, and Telangana. The company also reported an estimated national battery storage shortfall of about 208 GWh.

Ceigall subsidiary signs 130 MW solar PPAs with MPPMCL

Ceigall Green Energy MP Limited has executed 15 power purchase agreements with Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited for 130 MW of solar capacity. The agreements were signed on April 1, 2026, under the Surya Mitra Krishi Feeder Yojana. The projects will be developed and operated for 25 years at a tariff of Rs 2.85 per unit. The estimated EPC cost is Rs 572 crore, including GST, with construction scheduled for completion within 12 months.

MNRE issues draft firmware norms for solar dataloggers under PM Surya Ghar

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has issued draft guidelines for firmware development of solar dataloggers under the PM Surya Ghar programme. The framework sets standards for device interoperability, data integrity, and secure communication across rooftop solar systems. It includes provisions for HTTP-based local configuration, SSL-secured communication, and Modbus-based data acquisition protocols. The draft also specifies API structures, authentication mechanisms, and cybersecurity requirements. MNRE has invited stakeholder comments within 15 days of the memorandum.
