Power Mech Projects Limited has won a Rs 4.25 billion contract from Mirzapur Thermal Energy (UP) Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Power Limited (APL), for civil works, including ancillary and raw water reservoir (RWR) works, for the Mirzapur Thermal Power Project. The contract was awarded on March 28, 2025.
The scope of work includes civil works and erection of prefabricated structural steel for the boiler, turbine, and generator (BTG) section, main powerhouse, central control building, electrostatic precipitator (ESP), flue gas desulphurization (FGD) system, limestone handling plant (LHP), switchyard, and other ancillary structures, including RWR. The work is expected to be completed in 30 months.
The project, based on supercritical technology, will have two units of 800 MW each, totaling 1,600 MW. It is located at Dadri Khurd village in Mirzapur Sadar tehsil, Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh. Adani Infra (India) Limited acquired Welspun Energy Uttar Pradesh Private Limited (WEUPPL), originally incorporated by Welspun Energy Limited (WEL), and renamed it Mirzapur Thermal Energy (UP) Private Limited on August 16, 2019. The company was later acquired by APL. The estimated cost for implementing the project is Rs 183 billion.
