Power Mech Projects Limited has secured contracts to develop a total of 13.66 MW of grid-connected distributed solar power projects in Bihar. The award was announced on June 26, 2025, by the Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL).
The contracts fall under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme, specifically Component C2, which focuses on solarising agricultural and mixed feeders.
Three projects will be developed:
- A 4.221 MW project at Rajoun
- A 4.285 MW project at Sakahara
- A 5.155 MW project at Sambhuganj
BSPGCL had invited bids for a cumulative 1,591.87 MW of solar capacity across the state in November 2024.
The work involves installing solar power plants at various power substations to supply power to agricultural or mixed load feeders. The electricity generated will be procured by South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) and North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model.
For each MW installed, the central government will provide Rs 10.5 million, and the Bihar state government will contribute Rs 4.5 million. All three projects are expected to be completed within 12 months.
