Power Machines (India) Limited has won a contract worth Rs 11.19 billion for electro-mechanical (E&M) works (Lot-III) of the Kwar Hydro Electric Project (HEP). 

Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (CVPP) invited bids for the project in May 2024. The work is expected to be completed in 40 months.

The Kwar HEP is a run-of-river (RoR) scheme on the Chenab River near Padyarna village in Kishtwar district, Jammu region. CVPP is developing the project at an estimated cost of Rs 49.49 billion.

In a separate development, Sangamam Power Projects Private Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Odisha to develop a pumped storage project (PSP) in the state, with an estimated investment of Rs 70 billion.
