Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone for Avaada Group’s 1,560 MWp solar and 2,500 MWh battery energy storage project in Pugal, Rajasthan. He also inaugurated the company’s 200 MW AC (282 MWp) solar project at Shri Dungargarh in the Bikaner district.
Together, the two projects represent an investment of over Rs 9,200 crore.
The Shri Dungargarh solar project covers 777 acres and will supply electricity to Rajasthan discoms. It uses Avaada Electro’s ALMM-certified, made-in-India n-type TOPCon bifacial modules.
The Pugal project spans 4,000 acres and integrates a solar plant with battery storage, enabling the supply of firm renewable power beyond daylight hours. It will also be equipped with Avaada Electro’s n-type TOPCon bifacial modules.
Both projects are expected to create more than 1,600 jobs in Rajasthan. They are projected to avoid over 20 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year and save about 600 lakh litres of water annually through robotic cleaning.
Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi said the Pugal project will be India’s largest battery storage system to date and will strengthen grid reliability.
