Plug Power to supply 3 GW electrolysers for Australia’s green ammonia plant

Plug Power has signed a purchase agreement with Allied Green Ammonia (AGA) to supply 3 GW of electrolyser capacity for AGA’s green hydrogen-to-ammonia plant in Australia.
The plant will also include a 4.5 GW solar facility to power the electrolysers with zero-emission electricity, targeting a production capacity of 2,700 metric tonnes of green ammonia per day.
As part of the agreement, Plug Power will deliver a Basic Engineering and Design Package (BEDP) to provide technical details and specifications for securing investments.
Manufacturing and delivery of proton exchange membrane electrolysers are set to begin in the first quarter of 2027, following a positive final investment decision expected by Q2 2025.
