Philippines reports $8.12 B in BOI approved energy projects for 2025

The Philippine Department of Energy said the Board of Investments approved about $8.12 billion in power and electricity projects between January and November 2025. Energy accounted for 58.74 per cent of total BOI approvals. The portfolio spans nationwide generation and grid-related developments. Projects under review include 2.4 GW of proposed hydropower and 3.7 GW of offshore wind.
Department of Trade and Industry Secretary and Board of Investments Chair Ma. Cristina A. Roque said total approvals for the period reached about $13.80 billion. She added that 78 strategic projects worth about $32.53 billion have been cleared under the Green Lane initiative.
Green Lane certified projects are expected to create 161,325 direct jobs. Renewable energy leads with about $23.99 billion. Public-private partnership, infrastructure and water follow with about $7.03 billion. Since February 2023, the initiative has certified 229 projects worth about $102.31 billion.
BOI approvals from January to November are expected to create 32,864 direct jobs. Airports and seaports account for about $3.31 billion. Manufacturing has about $999 million. Mass housing stands at about $635 million, and information and communication at about $360 million.
