PGCIL approves Rs 9.62 billion for three new transmission projects

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has cleared investments for three transmission projects. The Committee of Directors (CoD) on investment of projects gave the green light on May 1, 2025.
The first is a transmission system aimed at strengthening power evacuation from the Bhadla and Bikaner complex. The project will cost Rs 2.12 billion and is scheduled for commissioning by June 9, 2026.
The second project falls under the Eastern Region Expansion Scheme-43 (ERES-43). It has an estimated cost of Rs 3.42 billion and is expected to be completed by March 1, 2026.
The third, Eastern Region Expansion Scheme-44 (ERES-44), will cost Rs 4.08 billion. Its expected commissioning date is May 24, 2026.
All three projects have been awarded to PGCIL under the regulated tariff mechanism (RTM) mode.
