PFC appoints Rajesh Kumar Agarwal as Director (Finance) and CFO
The Board of Directors of Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) has appointed Shri Rajesh Kumar Agarwal as Director (Finance) on its Board, effective April 23, 2026. He has also been designated as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from the same date.
The appointment follows an earlier intimation issued on April 23, 2026, confirming that Shri Agarwal had assumed charge pursuant to an order from the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The Board’s approval formalises his position on the Board of the state-owned non-banking financial company.
As Director (Finance) and CFO, Shri Agarwal will be responsible for overseeing PFC’s financial strategy and operations. He brings over 31 years of experience across the power and financial sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree and is a member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
Before this role, he served as Executive Director (Finance) at PFC from January 1, 2024. Since joining PFC in 2009, he has handled corporate accounts, taxation, fund management and banking, lending policy compliance, restructured assets, fund raising, and loan disbursement. He also led digital initiatives and contributed to strengthening financial reporting. Earlier in his career, he worked with NTPC, NPCIL, and DTL, where his experience included tariff-related matters, Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) negotiations, and implementation of the Ahluwalia Committee reforms.
