NTPC Limited has signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Grid Corporation of Odisha (GRIDCO) and Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) to promote green hydrogen mobility in Bhubaneswar.

Under the agreement, NTPC will establish a green hydrogen fuelling station and deploy hydrogen-powered buses for short- and long-distance routes, replacing fossil fuel-powered buses to support decarbonisation and energy security.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has partially funded the project.

Separately, the Odisha government approved seven renewable energy projects worth Rs 13.86 billion this month. These projects, with a total capacity of 192.41 megawatts (MW), aim to enhance the state’s sustainable energy infrastructure.
