NTPC has officially ceased operations at the Tanda Thermal Power Station, Stage-I, which included four units of 110 MW each, effective 1 September 2025.

The closure of these units reduces the operational footprint of the Tanda facility. Following this, NTPC’s total installed and commercial capacity stands at 82,926 MW.

The Tanda Thermal Power Station is located in Ambedkar Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh, and operates on coal sourced from North Karnpura Coal Fields. Water for the plant was drawn from the Tanda Pump Canal on the Saryu River.
