NTPC Green Energy Limited has created a new joint venture with Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited to build large renewable energy assets in the state. The entity, named Chhattisgarh NTPC Green Energy Limited, was incorporated on 05.12.2025.
Regulatory filings with the BSE and NSE show that NTPC Green Energy Limited holds a 74 per cent stake in the venture, while Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited holds 26 per cent. The move follows NTPC Green Energy Limited’s earlier disclosure in March 2025 and approval from the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management.
The joint venture will plan, develop, operate, and maintain a renewable energy park. The scope includes projects under the Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Parks scheme and other locations identified across Chhattisgarh. The planned portfolio covers solar, wind, and hybrid capacity of up to 2 GW.
The company will also assess reservoirs for floating solar deployment. NTPC Green Energy Limited has subscribed to 74,000 equity shares at a face value of Rs 10 each for a total of Rs 740,000.
